The scooter-tuning experts from NCY have just released this new coil-on-spark direct ignition coil for 2T and 4T scooters, giving you a chance to bring your scooter's ignition tech into the 21st century!
Since the 1990s, modern cars and high-performance motorcycles have broadly adopted coil-on-spark ignition technology because it allows more precise tuning and burns fuel more completely, for better power and cleaner emissions. This "direct ignition" setup's advantages (when properly tuned) can translate to more power and crisper, sharper throttle response at higher rpm - and also avoids the need to switch very high voltages, for more uniform performance in damp or humid weather.
We've tested this system on our own Honda Ruckus shop bike with great results, and our dealers have reported back increases of up to 2 mph with this simple bolt-on (on a tuned 2T Yamaha Zuma). Head over to the 0900-1075 product page at Scooterworks.com, and check it out - this is a great piece of engine eye candy that really works!

We know Genuine's new four-stroke Stella scooter is great. She shifts like a sports car. She looks like a million bucks. She handles like a freaky Russian gymnast. Now, you can add one more item to the list – She's Motorcycle.com's 2011 Scooter of the Year!
The Motorcycle.com staff was wowed by Stella's classic styling and modern disc brakes, halogen lights, and an eye-popping, EPA-certified 140 mpg fuel economy rating (!). At $3599, the 4-stroke Stella's monocoque steel frame and 50-state engine deliver great value, too – making this year's winner (against competition from Kymco and Vespa) an easy choice.
Head over to your local Genuine dealer to see what all the fuss is about, and check out Scooterworks.com for all the accessories you need to make your new Stella really Yours.

The San Francisco Scooter Centre recently put together this sexy little SS90 replica for last month's SF Classic scooter rally. The bike itself has an SS replica tank, as well as a number of other goodies, from Scooterworks USA, and was fabbed-up at the SF Scooter Centre's excellent shop ... which also happens to be the area's leading Genuine Scooter dealer!
If you're in the area, you definitely want to head over to SF Scooter Centre and see the sights (don't forget to look upstairs!).

It's been a while since my last post here - but that's a good thing. It means changes are happening behind-the-scenes to make Scooterworks.com a better place to shop and, I hope, a better place to visit. All the same, the Tron-style scooter up there got my attention this morning, and I decided it was worth sharing.
If you don't wish you had one of these when you were a kid, you're over 60. Or dead inside (I'm not here to judge).
The Light Cycle learning bike shown here was designed by Ryan Callahan, an industrial designer in the Town/Lifestyle group at Trek bicycles, as part of TrekWorld 2012.
