Scooter Community Links

Links to sites with other great scooter content and sites we like.

Genuinescooters.com is the site for our sister company, the Genuine Scooter Company (makers of the Stella 150 scooter). Stella is a steel-bodied classic 2-stroke scooter with a manual transmission, disc brake, gas shocks and more. She comes in an array of great colors, goes 55+ mph and gets about 90 miles per gallon. Scooterworks is the Chicago dealer for Stella and proud to be on the same winning team.

Scooterhelp.com is a wonderful resource for troubleshooting all kinds of issues with Vespa scooters. It has lots of photos and diagrams to walk you through everything from changing cables to tearing down and rebuilding an engine. Also features Wiring Diagrams a Serial Number Lookup and Vespa and Lambretta Workshop and Owners Manuals for many models. Together with the Haynes Manual this site can be your best ally when wrenching.

Vespamaintenance.com is another technically-oriented site, similar to Scooterhelp.com. Vespa Maintenance focuses mostly on P-series maintenance and repair, so if you have a 50s or 60s scooter the content may not always be relevant. The site is nicely-designed and easy to navigate.

Scooterbbs.com is a forum that's been around for many years. You can post technical questions here, and often they'll be answered quickly by scooterists around the world, but because the audience is so broad and anonymous posting is allowed, the replies can sometimes be a bit silly, mean-spirited, funny, or off-topic, depending on the poster.

Scoot.net is a community site where scooterists post and share rally photos, list scooters and parts for sale in a Classifieds section, check the national Rally Calendar, post their own Scooterist Profiles, or just chat with other enthusiasts.

I Scoot New York has a pretty handy FAQ page with lots of good info for people new to scootering, especially about locking bikes up and keeping them secure in New York City...because if you can keep a bike secure in NYC you can do it anywhere!

2 Stroke Buzz: So You're Buying a Scooter? is a nice, balanced overview written for someone considering their first scooter purchase. Lots of pragmatic info and real-world wisdom.

Greenscooter Open Source Vespa Maintenance has the beginnings of some great tech info, covering similar ground to Scooterhelp.com and Vespamaintenance.com.

Corazzo scooter jackets are now available in our retail shop. Corazzo designs their products specifically with scooterists in mind: fashion AND function. They're padded in the shoulders and elbows (and some have padding for the back as well) like all good riding jackets, they feature reflective striping for visibility, and can be worn on and off the scooter with equal ease. We're not selling them in our online store, but if you live in Chicagoland stop by and check these out, they're one of the most exciting scooter products to come along in a while.

We love Scoot! Magazine (formerly Scoot! Quarterly) for rally coverage, new product reviews, showcasing beautiful old scooters, and so much more. The US scooter scene has a real friend in Scoot and we salute them for all the support that they give!

Scooter World Magazine is a relative newcomer to the US scooter scene but a welcome addition, covering new scooters (mostly, with some vintage) and providing a great magazine with product reviews, tech talk, shop profiles and more. The best part of it though? It's FREE at your local shop!

Scooter Press is a new web magazine about scooters in the USA. Looks pretty cool, check it out!

Mikey Bikey Motorbikes is a Chicago company that specializes in motor mount packages for bicycles, custom Cushman scooter packages, do-it-yourself kits and high-performance scooters.
