Standard Engine Rebuilds

rebuilt engineParts that are replaced:

Bearings
Seals
Gaskets
Piston and Rings
O-rings
Clutch Corks, Bushing and Actuating Pad
Cruciform
Kickstart Gear
Kickstart Buffers
Brake Shoes
Spark Plug
Points
Condensor
Coil (if necessary)
Carburetor Gaskets

WHAT TAKES PLACE:
The engine is completely disassembled and hot-tanked to remove years of grime, oil and other impurities. All internal parts are inspected and measured. At this time, the customer is informed if additional parts not listed above are needed because of excessive wear or damage. The Cylinder is bored to next piston size, the Carburetor is soaked in solvent and rebuilt, the Stator is rewired if needed, the Points and Timing are set, and upon completion, the engine is run on our test stand to ensure quality.

Engine Restoration

All of the above, plus all covers & shrouds and the brake backplate are sandblasted and painted, with new hardware for covers.

*Engine OUT of the frame (sent to us in a box) is based on 10 hours of labor plus parts
*Engine still IN frame is based on 12 hours of labor plus parts

Estimates are based on engines from 1958 and later; earlier “widemount” engines billed by the hour, averaging 12-15 hours out of the frame. Engines that are frozen (stuck piston) or that require additional attention will increase the labor total. We will call if it looks like there are major problems.

Only after your motor has been carefully tested and “dialed in” will it be ready for shipping. It will be packed securely, insured, and sent to you ready for installation. Our reputation runs on with every motor we build, so you can count on us getting it right the first time!

Carb Rebuilds

Find a “barn bike” with 30-year old gas in it, or just have a gummy old carb that’s been mucked up for years? Send it in and we’ll wash it up and rebuild it with new gaskets, needle valve and float.

Stator Plates

Send us your old stator and we’ll rewire it, clean it and test it, and get it back to you quickly.

Flywheel Remagnetizing

Are the lights dim on your old scooter? Is your spark a little weak even though you’ve changed your points and condenser? Then chances are, your magneto needs a little more magnetism! Send it in and we’ll juice it back up.

Gas Tank Refurbishing

old gas tanksGasoline starts to go bad after a few months of sitting, so you can imagine what 20 years’ worth can do! Do you have a bike with gummy, foul-smelling old gas residue in the tank, and/or one that has rust coating the inside?

We’ve got two ways to fix the tank:

RECOATING it after a good cleanout, with the best solution available. We’ll replace your old fuel valve for you and send back your tank “ready to go”.

ACID ETCHING your tank for your show restoration; takes it down to bare metal but is not recommended if you’ve got little pin holes. We also install a new fuel valve with this service. NOTE: tank is not coatedwith this service; customer must prime/paint.

Cylinder Rebore

Don't scrap that old cylinder, send it to us and we'll re-bore it for you! $75 plus the cost of the new piston.

Cable Service

Having trouble shifting or braking? Snap a cable and can't seem to get a replacement fed-through? Bring your bike in and one of our Cable Technicians will have you properly-adjusted and on your way in short order.
