Vespa ET Scooter
The Vespa ET scooter was a slightly new direction for Vespa – it kept the aero / wasp design but compacted it into a slightly smaller bike that was lighter and easier to handle. The original ET was designed to be competitive with Asian manufacturers, and had an adjustable seat to accommodate customer height.
The Vespa ET scooter was the launching point for a new line of scooters that signaled the return of the Piaggio brand to North America. The smaller wheel size was compensated for by the fact that the scooter handled exceptionally well. The smooth ride combined with the sleek chassis design instantly made the scooter popular.

Vespa ET accessories are generally interchangeable across the range of models – the major differences are in the engine specs – so you can add functionality and protective elements to your scooter with ease. General Vespa ET parts and add ons, like chrome kits (including front fenders, horn covers and racks) are a quick install, and custom floor-mats finish out the 'dressing up'. Cowl and leg shield emblems particular to the series can be added for additional flair.
All of the Vespa ET models are similar in size, with a rigid frame and stressed steel body. The highly aerodynamic body combined with the smaller 10 inch wheels make it maneuverable through congested city centers. The rare mixed brake system seen on the LX is also present on the ET line; 200mm disc brakes in front and a 110mm rear drum. The ET2 has a single cylinder, two stroke engine with a two way catalytic converter for lower emissions. The ET4 is a single cylinder, four stroke engine – and can hit nearly 65 mph. Both have standard electric start, with an emergency kick start.
The Vespa ET Scooter was generally available in metallic Shiny Black, Pearl, Dawn, Excalibur Grey and Imperial Blue. The seat is spacious and comfortable, in either a suede color or standard black leather. It is adjustable down to 785mm to accommodate riders of most any height.
