Description
This Tutti Ricambi Engine Kit is just that - a COMPLETELY UNASSEMBLED, DIY LML engine for vintage Vespas (the assembled version is available here). We repeat: This is a completely unassembled engine. You, or someone you know and trust, will have to build this thing.
Specifications:
- Complete unassembled engine
- No electric start
- Features a single unregulated wire for lighting; you'll have to mount the coil somewhere on your frame
- Includes an exhaust
Compatibility: 4-speed largeframe Vespa scooters model years 1959+, except Vespa GS150
NOTE: To install the completed engine on 10" scooters (i.e., all largeframes without batteries or signals from 1959 and up), you will need the following:
- Voltage regulator and Ducati-style CDI
- Wiring harness conversion kit
- Front kill-switch assembly (switch may come with harness kit)
- If you are going to retain your original harness and your scooter did not come with a CDI, you will also need a wiring harness for LML to CDI
Installing an 8" wheel with this engine will change the gear ratio, consequently increasing RPM at a given speed. It is not recommended you install 8" wheels on this engine if regular usage will be above 45mph.
If installing on an 8" wheel scooter, you will need the 2-pin brake shoes, brake backplate, and hub brake drum. If you have a 2-pin 8" motor, you can re-use these parts from your current engine.
