T-Shirt Smile Emoticon

This shirt features a colon and a close parenthesis (also known as right pare, right parenthesis, right, close, close paren and even right banana).  When combined, the two characters make what resembles a sideways smile.  This is what is known as an "emoticon".   Emoticons have been very useful in written communication as a way to express emotions that otherwise may have been lost in text.  Recent studies have shown that most modern people no longer like speaking to one another in person or over the phone, and actually prefer repurposing characters.
