Camshaft Code Reference

SSP-G cams are stamped with a letter code, and some are marked with an alternate H designation. The range runs from A8, the mildest profile, up to A14, the most aggressive. The A12 sits in the upper-middle of the range for strong mid and top-end power.

Compatibility

Check the engine code stamped on your scooter before ordering. Engines marked 152QMI or 157QMJ may use this cam, but verify the 34-tooth cam gear and 16002C3 bearing against your original part.

Build Notes

Running a high-lift cam on a stock head with stock jetting limits your gains and can cause a lean condition at high RPM. Upjet the carburetor main jet and do frequent plug checks to confirm you have added enough fuel to reach the proper air-fuel ratio. That protects the engine and gets you full power. The A12 works even better paired with a performance head with larger valves and a big-bore cylinder.
