Choosing Roller Weight

Lighter rollers generally delay upshifting and allow higher operating RPM; heavier rollers generally encourage earlier upshifting and lower operating RPM. The right choice keeps the engine in its useful power range. Going too light or too heavy can hurt acceleration or prevent the transmission from reaching its best speed. Roller weights do not add horsepower, and a lighter set does not automatically increase top speed.

Use your existing setup as the starting point, change one tuning variable at a time, and follow the variator manufacturer's installation instructions.
