How often should I change my spark plug? > For most 50cc–150cc scooters, we recommend inspecting the plug every 1,000 miles and replacing it every 2,000–3,000 miles.

Pro Tip: If your scooter is difficult to start or idling roughly, check the plug color. A healthy plug should have a light tan or gray color. If it’s black (sooty) or white (blistered), your engine may be running too rich or too lean.

Installation Note: Always start threading the plug by hand to avoid cross-threading the cylinder head. Tighten to 1/2 turn past finger-tight for a new plug to properly crush the sealing washer.
