Mechanic's Installation Tip: Before removing your old starter, disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal to eliminate short-circuit risk. Inspect your starter chain and tensioner for excessive slack or wear. Ensure the engine ground wire connection is clean and tightly secured — a loose or corroded ground is the leading cause of intermittent starting issues and low cranking power.
CRITICAL FITMENT CHECK: Small 4-stroke engines use either an "Upper Mount" (above the cylinder) or a "Lower Mount" (underneath the crankcase) starter. This is a lower-mount unit. Physically verify your engine's mounting position and confirm the 68mm bolt-hole spacing before ordering.
