SSP-G A12 Performance Camshaft | GY6

Your GY6's stock camshaft is engineered for low-RPM smoothness — not power. The SSP-G A12 Performance Camshaft changes that. With higher lift and longer duration than the stock cam, the A12 holds the intake and exhaust valves open longer and pushes them further, allowing more air and fuel into the cylinder on each stroke. The result is a noticeable increase in mid-range and top-end power, a stronger pull at higher RPMs, and a more aggressive throttle response throughout the rev range.

The A12 is one of the most popular cam upgrades for GY6 builds because it delivers real, seat-of-the-pants power gains without requiring head machining or exotic valve springs. It pairs especially well with a big bore kit, performance exhaust, and an upjetted carburetor.

Build Tip: Running a high-lift cam on a stock head with stock jetting will limit your gains and cause a lean condition at high RPM.  Make sure you upjet your carburetor main jet and do frequent plug checks to ensure you have added enough fuel to get to the proper air-fuel ratio.  This will ensure maximum power and longevity from your engine.

The A12 works even better when paired with a performance head (larger valves), and a big bore cylinder.
