Description

Vespa GTS & LX Starter Switch

Don't let a temperamental button keep you from hitting the road. Because your electric starter button is used on every single ride and sits exposed to the elements, its internal return spring and copper contacts are prime targets for moisture corrosion and dust buildup. If you have to press your button "just right" or wiggle it to get the engine to turn over, this high-quality aftermarket replacement restores instant, effortless starting with a crisp, reliable connection.

Key Features

  • Instant Contact: Engineered with high-conductivity internal pins to deliver immediate current to your starter relay without lag.

  • Resilient Spring Return: Features a robust internal spring mechanism designed to snap back instantly, preventing starter motor hang-up.

  • Seamless Cockpit Fit: Styled and textured to match the factory finish and sit perfectly flush inside your Vespa's handlebar switch pod.

  • Direct Wire Harness Match: Built with the exact terminal block layout required for a quick plug-and-play install—no slicing or heat-shrinking needed.

Fitment Guide

Brand Model Specific Fitment
Vespa GTS 200 / 250 / 300 All Pre-HPE Generations (Super, GTV)
Vespa LX 50 / 150 All Carbureted & i.e. Variants
Vespa LXV 150 All Years
Vespa S 50 / 150 All Years

Technical Specs

  • Part Number: 58057R-AFT

  • Material: Impact-Resistant Matte Polymers

  • Function: Momentary Push-Button Ignition Actuator

  • Electrical Connection: Factory-Matched Multi-Pin Plug

Maintenance Note: If your scooter won't crank, remember that the starter circuit runs through your brake lever switches. If your brake light doesn't illuminate when pulling the lever, the starter button won't receive power to trigger the engine.

Installation Tip: When pulling the old switch out, disconnect the wire harness before completely pulling the switch housing through the handlebar opening to avoid snagging or stretching the internal scooter wiring loom.

Pro Tip: While you have the headset plastics disassembled to swap this switch, inspect your throttle cable free-play. Adjusting any excessive slack at the handlebar barrel will give you much crispier, more responsive throttle inputs.
