Upgrading Tip: While vintage Hondas (pre-1988) utilize the same physical crankshaft taper layout, their older 6V points-ignition flywheels are completely incompatible with this modern 12V electronic CDI stator. If converting a vintage unit, you must pair this stator with a matching 12V electronic ignition flywheel and regulator/rectifier.
Installation Note: Ensure the internal engine case cavity is completely dry and free of oil before sealing the stator cover back down. Derailed or loose drive chains can easily slice through the external wiring insulation harness leg—always route the wiring clear of the front drive sprocket.
