Mechanic's Note: Never mix brake fluid types. If your reservoir cap says DOT 4, stick with DOT 4. When installing a new master cylinder, you must bleed the air out of the brake line — use a vacuum brake bleeder tool to pull fluid down to the caliper and eliminate any soft, spongy spots in your lever feel.
